From Lynn’s Comments: In this drawing, since the characters are sitting and talking in the same spot, I could have copied one drawing and repeated it 4 times. The thing is…I wanted the audience to see into my world as if they were looking through the lens of a camera—and in a movie, that lens is rarely still.
I didn’t run out of money my eight years at Penn State. I stayed in a former motel room on very little income. However, the total of eleven years and four degrees never paid off.
My son put himself through college, he worked, had a Scholarship, and got a Fannie Mae loan, even went on to get his Masters, he’s 41 now and very successful in life, in other words, he’s rich and loves his job. And I got two beautiful grandkids out of it. He knows how to manage his money and life, happy wife, happy life.
“La, la, la, la, la la la la la. Get a job. La, la, la, la, la la la la la. Get a job. Ahh, ep-ep-ep-ep-ep-ep-ep-ep-mum-mum-mum-mum-mum-mum GET A JOB!”
The Clueless Colorist strikes again. Pro tip: Connie is not Michael. If you are having trouble distinguishing characters, trying reading the strip for context clues.
I’ve got one in college and one out of college, and I’m still doing it and not by choice. Which then makes me short and I have to borrow a few times myself.

Why don’t you just have lunch at each other’s houses rather than go out? That saves money.

Since all these are all reprints, I wonder what $200 cdn in those days is equivalent to now.

If the kids haven’t been taught this by now, it’s going to be much harder to teach them it now.
This conversation should have happened years ago, and with the kids.

One thing that I couldn’t notice in the original 1994 black and white version was that Connie has medium reddish brown hair.
Compare that to September 28, 2023 where Connie had golden yellow blonde hair.
As a guy I wonder how much women spend out of every cent they budget when they change their hair color every two months?

I never allow anyone to pay for me. It is just a thing with me. I never want to owe anyone anything.
