Just put the penguins in a pen together; they’ll sort it out for themselves.

At least the spot pattern on the African penguin’s chest and belly is unique to each bird.

Parrots and corvids are believed to be the most intelligent of birds. The birds using the anti-bird spikes in nests are corvids in Europe. In Australia, cockatoos are pulling the spikes off of buildings.

First of all, the poor grammar in the first factoid suggests that hummingbirds and spiders work together to build the bird’s nest; second, nature will always outsmart human endeavor to control it (i.e. the birds using spikes to their own needs); then, can anyone tell me who is employed to go among the penguins to administer the cheek swabs for DNA testing? Also, as has been suggested in earlier comments, why does one need to tell the female and male penguins apart, and for what purpose?

Who can blame those birds for their theft of the spikes? Sigh!

Once heard that human hair will keep squirrels from digging where it’s place – it works until it rains a few times – also heard that if a bird used your hair to make a nest, you’ll get migraines. – No headaches, but my trees are full of little afros.
