When the Trumpist party cannot stop their own mini civil war to do some actual governing and keep the government going, when their orange leader is facing civil and criminal charges, when they oppose funding for a democratic ally fighting for its existence against an enemy of the US, when they have reduced the US House of Representatives to a clown show, and all their right wing propagandist cartoonists can come up with is a Democratic representative who accidentally pulled a fire alarm, we know that the Democratic party is doing okay.
John Kelly, the longest-serving Chief of staff that Trump had, has confirmed those stories about Trump’s behavior:
““What can I add that has not already been said?” Kelly said when asked if he wanted to weigh in on his former boss in light of recent comments made by other former Trump officials. “A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them.’ A person who did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family – for all Gold Star families – on TV during the 2016 campaign and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.”
And there he is, folks, the leading Republican candidate, and probable nominee. Compared to pulling a fire alarm, and the histrionics by this cartoonist, it is laughable.
A former school principal really couldn’t tell the difference of, and actually believed pulling a fire alarm would open a door? Congressman dumb a$$ is voting for us???
Yep I agree he was stupid enough to pull an alarm, does it make him a socialist? don’t think so, he may need to catch a ride with the republican represenative who wants to drive or take a train to Hawaii.
I will have to say that if he really stated he thought it would open the door, I wonder what he was smoking. He cannot be so old he doesn’t know what a fire alarm is.
The right always conflates economic systems with morality, a typically simplistic and confused understanding. Socialism bad. Capitalism good. Free market must mean free…yup yup. They miss the obvious need to mix and match. Public funding of a number of things is imperative—police, fire departments, the military…. And capitalist competition has clearly stimulated innovation (though not exclusively—the space program and its countless spinoffs. Or the atom bomb). Socialism has evolved. Democratize the workplace—co-ops, the Mondragon Corporation. Capitalism has, too. Think, for instance, Citizens United.
Out of touch with “reality” are those who benefit from government programs while labeling them as “socialist”. Considering the average age of the MAGA crowd, it seems like quite a few aren’t in touch with reality.
If Bowman was scamming, was this act enough to have him removed? Because that’s what the republicans are calling for. If he lied about it being accidental, that’s false statements to Congress.
So if he was guilty of not JUST false statements to Congress, but also wire fraud, like george santos, and money laundering, like george santos, and theft of public money, like george santos, why isn’t Bowman being forgiven, like george santos?
And I guess it’s not against the law to lie and say your mother died in the World Trade Center, like george santos, or lie and say your grandparents fled the holocaust, like george santos, but still, that’s acceptable to republicans.
And if Jamaal Bowman pulling a fire alarm is giving you the vapors, wait until you hear about the guy who was president and sent an armed mob carrying pipe bombs, confederate flags, and a noose, to overrun the Capitol and obstruct the certification of electoral votes, all because he was too big a big fat combed over baby to deal with the fact that he’s a massive, pathetic, loser.
Okay everybody! Time for our Poli Sci lesson for today! Please turn to page 2 of your comic book titled “The Wheels of the Congressional Bus go round and round.”

I wish I could briefly state my opinion of this slur on socialism, but it’d never get past the Gocomics censors.

Nothing will come of it. He’s a democrat, he’s African American, and if he puts a wig on and identifies as a woman, he can do it every day.

Jamaal Anthony Bowman is an insurrectionist and an obstructionist.

In addition to the felony of having falsely pulled a fire alarm, Bowman appears to have been intent on disrupting an official congressional proceeding. And where have we heard that language before? Yep, hundreds of January 6 defendants were arrested and prosecuted on that very same charge, 18 U.S.C. § 1512©(2). Some were even placed in solitary confinement while they awaited trial.

Ah yes, one of the three boogeyman words, along with ‘woke’, ‘progressive’, and ‘liberal’.
A lot of people with that mindset think ‘research’ is also out to get them.
