In the ten years since the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, thousands more have been wounded or killed in the shootings that puncture America daily. Uncountable people deal with the resulting trauma, grief, and pain physical and emotional. Yet we as a nation still cannot muster the courage or wisdom to address the sickness of the gun culture that pervades our society. “Freedom is being able to go shopping and expecting to make it home safely. We are not free.” —Cleveland City Councilwoman Jenny Spencer.
I hesitate to respond, yet I do. The Liberals on the political cartoon sites will vilify me for my comment, even label me a “troll”. The gun had nothing to do with the violence, as it was an available tool.. The person used a tool to commit an unspeakable atrocity. Yet I hear nothing about his youth, perhaps his parents have some responsibility in the way they raised him. Perhaps he was raised like so many of our youth today, you are special, don’t listen to authority, you are a special person. Teachers and older people are not your authority figures. Policeman and anyone that tries to correct you are inhibiting your potential. In other words, Snowflakes, it is OK to shoot up a school or a mall, as long as the weapon is at fault. You are just a victim of your circumstance.

What have we done in the last 10 years to make this less likely?
Go ahead. What?

If the murder of 2 dozen children didn’t lead to gun control, nothing will. The Republican Party is a death cult.

At the time I told a friend that nothing would be done. I sure wanted to be wrong.

When I “like” this cartoon, I mean I approve the sentiment. Its actual meaning is quite depressing.

Americans bought at least 150m guns in decade since Sandy Hook shooting
Estimated number of US gun owners has grown by 20 million in recent years, which experts say may lead to more firearm deaths
