    I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I became a machine operator.

    I actually knew the moment I decided what I wanted to be, well at least, the field I wanted to be in. My dad had taken a College class for his work, and his textbook was in our “Library”. It was called “Introduction to Data Processing”, and I was fascinated by it. When I got to College age, I took the course-load for “Computer Science” and eventually became a Programmer. From there, I morphed into a “Software Specialist” for PCs, although the job was actually more “Hardware” than “Software”. I never regretted the path that book put me on… ☺

    12 years from now: most white collar jobs performed by computer, education -online, teamsters-self driving trucks, manufacturing-India/Vietnam/China, retail-self check-out, agriculture/construction-immigrants… So, maybe lawyers/plumbers/doctors/police/cartoonist?
