Baseball coach: Fox! Get your tail over here! Peter: Yes, Coach? Coach: Har har. Peter: Yes, Coach? Coach: Fox, I want you to pitch batting practice today. Peter: Me?? You want me to pitch?? Thank you, sir! Thank you! I don't know if you knew this, but I've always dreamed of someday trying out for that position! I study all the pros on TV - Clemens...Gooden...Hernandez...Johnson..Maddux..Beck... I even take the mound sometimes before practice to work on my curveball. Coach: Believe me, I've noticed. That's why I want to see you out there. Baseball player: Think It'll work? Coach: If this doesn't get our hitters out of their slumps, nothing will. Baseball players: Whap! Yeeha! Another homer! That's 83 in a row, Pizey. How about giving the rest of us a chance.

They are letting him pitch, because his team is depressed, and since he (Peter) is a bad pitcher , the team will get more happy, because they hit the ball so much

“Cryptik”…it is a mystery that you enjoy this comic but are not a grammar nazi, though the rest of us are.
Crypti© meant, “They are letting him pitch, because the team is depressed and since Peter is an insufficient pitcher, the team will score hits, and thus boost their self esteem.”

Um… You’re kind of being a jerk. You need to stop correcting people’s comments. I mean, what do you think is going to happen? “Oh! LieutenantCommanderData is SO dreamy because he knows grammar! I should write Mrs. Cats&bubbles Data in my notebook over and over again! sigh He knows so much about using the English language correctly!” No! You’re impressing no one! I mean, since when do comic comments have to be published novels? They’re sentences written by kids, teens, and the occasional adult on a website for COMICS for crying out loud! Get over yourself and kindly keep your powerful, all-knowing wisdom to yourself.
