And then, when all of a sudden a big snapper bit him below the loincloth, Muviro heard the call – not of the tree owl but more of the free howl…

Does Tarzan kill tree owls also now? Wouldn’t have expected that.

As I whined and complained before, international slave trade ended in the mid-19th century. (Legal slavery didn’t end until the mid-20th century. And there are more slaves now in the world than ever before – but the corrupt governments that allow it, or employers who practice it – people are still convicted of practicing slavery in the US – don’t call it slavery.) So, when is this set? 1837? Oh, wait, the motor launch says the internal combustion engine is around. Maybe Julius Caesar and Albert Einstein are being held among the captives.

Tree Owl? Lion stuffed with Tree Owl is Bwana’s favorite food = none left.

After not hearing any tree owls for many moons, the others finally realized that the distant bank was Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Tarzan is channeling his Johnny Weissmuller’s swimming skills.

“There is always much feasting and noise when they come.”

“I’m going!” says Tarzan enthusiastically. He loves to party.

What happens if an actual tree owl starts hooting, at the wrong time?

Musa sure seems to know an awful lot about what goes on in the slavers’ village, even though she lives five days plus down river. I’m guessing she lurks on the slavers’ Facebook page.

Musa: Which tree-owl call, dude? There’s about 40 species of owls in Africa, man!

Awful knowledgeable about what goes on in there, Tarzan, despite only being there a day of so . . .
