Abortion was settled in a 7-2 margin in 1973 before the Supreme Court. Becerra is defending a constitutional right for a woman to decide what is best for her.
On this subject. I drove by the local PPH building. There were 3 “good” christians out front protesting abortion. The PPH in my town does not perform abortions and does more to prevent abortion than those “good” christians will ever do. I honked and showed them they are number 1.
Lisa, of course, knows without any thought that the LSP have a perfect right to impose THEIR religious beliefs on their employees, so of course Becerra was DEAD WRONG (in her opinion) to try to impose equal rights for ALL.
It never fails to amaze me when a woman supports other entities assuming authority over a woman’s body. That’s between her and her doctor and certainly not women who choose not to participate in biological life – or men who have no business sticking their nose in.
For Ms Benson to assert or warn that ANYONE is a “dummy” is like Trump asserting or warning that ANYONE is arrogant, venal, mendacious, corrupt, hypocritical, double-dealing, Machiavellian, and/or psychopathic. Based on her far too lengthy track record, Ms Benson’s political and/or economic opinions are uniformly 180̊ from reality. She’s either a drunk, a damned fool, a lunatic, or a liar. Throw the dice.
Lisa, I’m impressed. I have to believe that every time you draw a nun the paper bursts into flame. So I’m guessing you drew this digitally to get around that?
Just a reminder. Abortion is a moral issue and not a crime. There is a difference. Moral issues related to religion are out of place because of the first amendment.Besides, who really wants to put a doctor or a poor, frightened woman in jail?
Once, no one in the world dies of starvation on our overpopulated planet (which consumes more than it replenishes), or everyone has to access Covid vaccines, or extreme weather due to climate change is not a threat, … will I believe one word from the “right to life” hypocrites that want to impose their ludicrous religious beliefs on the rest of us.
The objection to insurance covering birth control for their employees by the Little Sisters of the Poor is ridiculous. They were given an”out” to fill out a form stating their objection and BC would be covered without Sisters’ being involved but they still objected. The Pill is used for medical conditions in addition to BC and no one should have to reveal private health details to their employer.
However, I would like to see someone nominated that has more experience with the health care system which would help in working to make the changes that are sorely needed.
Remember, republicans picked Betsey Devos and other unqualified people under Trump. Lying rotten partisan Republicans are holding dems to a higher standard.
I’ll only say this. In my opinion, ANY conservative or Republican who didn’t condemn Trump unequivocally has permanently given up the right to criticize ANYONE. He was obviously and unashamedly a vile, mendacious, bullying narcissist from the first debate until today, and power has only made him worse. And his approval rating among Republicans is still hovering around 80%.
Considering the “qualifications” of the majority of SwampyDon’s cabinet members for the posts they held, the hypocrisy of Hawley, Cruise, and other Senators to ask some of the questions they have been asking just boggles the mind! As does this cartoon!

When the USA joins the civilized world and institutes single payer/national health this will be a moot point.
