One of the great things about cats – they don’t do the “slave tricks” thing. I once tried to teach a cat to fetch. I threw a small ball, she brought it back. Great! I threw it again, she brought it halfway back. Maybe she’s not catching on, I thought, as I went to retrieve the ball. I threw it again. She brought it one-quarter the way back. I won’t say how many more times I tried before I realized she was teaching me to fetch.
