There are a number of social media companies that use some form of encryption to avoid the possibility of knowing what’s being posted, which means that they really cannot be held to community standards. However, that means in essence, that to join a group, you have to be invited (by being given a key to that group’s encryption). This means that the “R₀” of the “infection” is a lot smaller than in a place such as Twitter. It also means that little hot spots of misinformation and bile pop up independently… and here’s the key: Since “reality” is not something that matters to them, they end up with a whole bunch of wacky (or worse) BUT DIFFERENT group beliefs. That’s a good thing for the rest of us.

I’d doubt they’d have the intelligence to tie the string to the hoods.

Call them Drumpf reactionaries, or better, Drumpf fascists. Conservative means little anymore.

Will tRumps followers believe his (very scripted) ‘plea’ for peace and non-violence or will they see what everyone else does, that he just doesn’t give a damn?

There is still plenty of activity on Facebook that is promoting more insurrection (they call them “rallies” but still reference the use of force). The Trumpers still believe that Trump will prevail and that they need to “fight” to support him. And if you decide to do some searching on their FB pages, be careful – I ended up getting put on one of their disgusting “news feeds”.

big0mike – another one that seems to have stopped looking at history after the Dixiecrats moved to the Republican party with Strom Thurmond leading the way. Repubs never stopped falsely denigrating Byrd even though he joined the KKK when it was considered to be smart politically. As he learned more about what they stood for, he left and spent the rest of his life saying how much he regretted joining them in the first place.

Read a story about MLK/FBI documentary that ponders whether “cancel culture” will turn on MLK when it is “discovered” that he had multiple affairs, invoking the movement to remove Confederate statues from the public square and rename military bases. First of all, it is fairly well known about MLK affairs and what should REALLY disturb people is how much spying Hoover and the FBI was able to do – makes you think about what they are possiblydoing today regarding any activist groups like BLM. Secondly, the obsession by Repubs about affairs is ridiculous. If you look at the history of infidelity by presidents or other people in power, there seems to be more that cheated than stayed faithful. Last but definitely not least, the Confederate statues were put up LONG after the Civil war and they were intended to intimidate black people to try to keep them from voting or speaking out. IMO removing any statues of anyone that owned slaves is a step too far, but information can be added to statues or other displays to help explain this in the context of history. The REAL history of the U.S. should be taught, warts and all.

“Two Peaches” will use what ever is available, even if it is only KLANSTER.

Saw his scripted plea this morning. My theory is that they had the shock collar screwed down so tight and set so high that he had to stay on script, or they actually paid Alec Baldwin to stand in for him. And sadly, as bmburns said, his followers will probably interpret it as a call to action.

I will as again. What are those types of white people afraid of? How is it that the color of one’s skin is more of a threat than a fire arm? They will say it’s not fear, I call BULLSH*T.

Must provide proof of low IQ? I would think the act of applying to use would be evidence enough. Ensure string is around throat prior to pulling tight!
