    I don’t know, dtroutma.

Except the “scientists” in the toon are looking in the wrong place.

Humans don’t really affect plate tectonics. It is the atmosphere and the ocean that are changed.

    Rockngolfer,

Given the nature of the toon, I think you meant pate tectonics.

If more scientists could positively affect those, we’d make better decisions.

vortex, don’t be an idiot just because you don’t like Democrats or understand liberalism. Yes, Earth’s climate has changed before and will change again. Doesn’t mean we can live there once it has! Once it was a ball of molten rock. All natural, but could you live there? And Venus, currently 860°F at the surface, is believed to have reached that temperature through a runaway greenhouse effect. And even a relatively minor temperature change could reduce our civilization to chaos. So try to use a little nuance, hmmm?

narrowminded (appropriate name): Bankers and CEO’s don’t earn their incomes: they don’t produce real wealth but just manipulate the profits stolen from the hard-striving white- and blue-collar workers who DO earn their incomes by producing wealth. It’s called Capitalism, that failed economic scam cheerled by another narrowminded ideologue…Ayn Rand. Yeah, I’m a Liberal (capital L) and proud of it.

MM– the reality is that “Americans” think with their “gut instincts”, like, well, “W”, NOT their brains. THAT is the basic problem- much in evidence around “this neighborhood”, that NO amount of reason and scientific evidence can sway those devoted to myth and political enslavement, or get them to cast off their self-imposed chains, and accept logic.

^Well, can’t disagree with you there. My field is nonconscious motivation, after all…
