Ooo! Smart kid!

I seem to recall doing a lot of my summer pondering during the long hot afternoons of the last month of school. By August, it’s really pretty much too late to change course…

Even Mallet’s consistent positivity seems to be waning!

Someone said next year will be puns about 2021 like (Twenty twenty-won) I like the one that says we can call a do over since we didn’t use this year. So no aging this year, and next birthday will be same age as now.

Right, Kid. You can be miserable any time. Besides, if it is as hot and humid there as here in central VA, complaining indoors while looking out the window would be more the usual thing.

I do feel for children, who should be having their usual fun but so much of it is on hold.

Hey, a new character! Am I wrong or is this the only other talking visible minority kid in this strip?

This summer, actually the rest of 2020, is on life support with no sign of brain activity. Kindest thing to do is pull the plug and end the pain, let it go peacefully. And if I knew a way to hibernate through 2021, I would be happy to head for my cave.

You just have to be creative!
