And the newspaper employees who are still delivering the news in hard copy—which can not be altered or digitally manipulated.

I hope people now realize how important everyone’s job is to keep the country rolling. There are other important jobs – truck drivers, mail carriers, utility people (gas. electric) and many other jobs that I have forgotten. While I like my old boss, I remember one time say “Vinnie job is so easy that anyone can do it”. First of all it was that easy as I was his fill in when he went on vacation and secondly he worked with some dangerous chemicals everyday. People don’t know what another person’s job entails until they have to do that job.

Don’t forget utility workers, especially water and wastewater folks, they are never thought about until it isn’t there in normal times. They are there every day of the year working to ensure your drinking water is safe to drink and wastewater is treated before going into environment.

And the nurse on the radio this morning. She asked for a good mask. Was fired the next day. A nurse. An essential part of the system. All hail “The Man”.

I hope that after this emergency is over, we take a good hard look at our society, it’s economy and realize that every member of our community plays a vital role in some part and that they all should be compensated at a sustainable living wage. What seems most immoral to me is the high disparity between a CEO and the workers at the bottom rungs of the scale. No human being is worth 300 to 500 times the wage of another.
