Sanders has hypocritically slammed other candidates for taking money from “billionaire donors” while starting his own dark money fund, “Our Revolution,” to which donors can contribute unlimited amounts. Google it!
Bloomberg’s tax proposal contains multiple provisions that would raise taxes on the wealthy. I was impressed when I read it. Not quite as aggressive as I would like, but sensible, passable (!), and not legally questionable.
Not to mention that “free checking” Big Banking gives him for maintaining a minimum balance. I understand that mega corps like Mc Donalds give him coffee and small soft serve ice cream at a supposed “Senior” discount.
No politician is perfect. As much as I hate trying to choose the least awful candidate, I’m encouraged that even Joe Biden… even Michael Bloomberg would be light years ahead of the current horror. And several of them are actually pretty exciting. Klobuchar is looking pretty good lately, and despite her recent drop, I really like Warren’s “got a plan for that”. Bernie may not be as electable, but I think he could win running against the one put up by the other “party” even with the disadvantage of being branded a “socialist”. And the others in the top four or five could also win. I’m looking forward to the end of the current era, though I’m not expecting to enjoy the next 9 months.
Time for the Dems to grow up and agree to ALL back whomever they nominate, #groweeuptime, and, yes, we all are united by our repugnance to right-wing populism.
