There will be a time where you can print a practical gun in a consumer or commercial 3D printer, but for now the nearest is that AR 15 receiver that can be created in an industrial CNC machines. Which is still more expensive & impractical than buying one.
And with a plastic gun or two one could commit a crime and throw the guns away. It would also be difficult to locate with metal detectors as is the common practice at crime scenes. Not to mention the prospect of having several of them disassembled in carry-on luggage and re-assembled in the airplane restroom. Note also that the idiot responsible for this describes himself as an anarchist and probably isn’t planning on breeding.
