Let’s see, $34 million box office in 1995 dollars, …how much were movie tickets 23 years ago? $7? would be 5 million, plus whoever has seen it since… say another 5 million (SWAG) would be 10 million out of 350 million = 2.85%

That shuffle is much less common than it was a decade or so ago, in both marathons and Ironman, due mainly to better sports nutrition we have now.

And for those who know the actor’s recent history, disgusted them again, too.

And 100% of us know when they’re breaking the fourth wall with that last quip.

All week? I’m usually walking normal again on the third day after. I must not be trying hard enough. But that’s OK with me.

2%? What are they trying to say? That I’m old?

It doesn’t take a marathon to create that particular syndrome. At my age, moving has done it for me. I’ve been bending, lifting and unpacking so much that it takes me about 10 steps to straighten out and walk right.

…so 2% of the population are marathoners who’ve seen “The Usual Suspects”? Um, I don’t think 2% of the population run marathons.

First time I read that I thought it said ’the Kiester Soze syndrome"

I spent at least 10 or 15 minutes online reading about Keyzer Soze without getting the least glimmer what connection he might have with the marathoners’ symptom alluded to, and the comments here are no help either in that regard.

Who needs to tun a marathon? Plantar fasciitis flares up and you get the same effect.

I am the 98%….

Do you suppose Jef gets some palm grease for publicizing that film?

Check us out, indeed. We just entertained 2% of the population, and probably pissed off, at least a little, 80% of the 2% who know that Keyser Söze was played by the now outed-as-awful Kevin Spacey.

And I’m fine with all of that. Spacey gets no royalties from my fair-use mention of his character in someone else’s movie, and everyone should see that movie, even if I spoilered it a little bit. It’s a terrific movie with one of the best ensemble casts ever. Some great scenes. One in particular. One that is, albeit not portrayed as such in the film, every week-out marathoner’s dream.

Speaking of marathons, good luck and great times to anyone participating tomorrow in the Detroit Free Press Marathon. Layers. It’s warm in the tunnel, and cold coming out, especially if you’re soaked. And enjoy the Keyser Söze walk when it comes next week.

Entertained? More like 0.2 percent.
