It’s very simple. Ask the representatives of the Palestinians what they WANT for peace. If they can’t give a clear and concise answer, they are at fault. The Palestinian side has NEVER been clear about what a reasonable end would look like. Clinton dealt with Arafat only to find out no matter what he negotiated for the Palestinians, it wasn’t enough.
That is, of course, ignoring the fact that many Palestinians and Muslims around the region would like to see Israel cast into the Mediterranean….
I call on anybody here to tell us plainly what would achieve peace from the Palestinian side.
Maybe that’s the answer to successful negotiations: lock them in a room and slowly suck the air out until they reach a compromise. If not, send the next team in and repeat the process.
^ I can go for that. My old theory about solving disputes was to lock the leaders in a room with a pencil, paper, pistol and knife for each. Open it when settlement is reached.

I should just let the cat have the final word, but one point here is that the Palestinians have been a political pawn all along. They might, if asked, give a clear-cut answer; but they are funded and positioned by other, richer countries to weaken the Israeli, even when they may agree with them (as we saw with the Wikileaks regarding the common fear of Iran). If it were just the Israeli and the Palestinians, it might have been settled long ago – possibly with a massacre, but settled. But it isn’t; it’s the Israeli and Americans versus the Palestinians and conservative Islamic states versus the moderate Islamic states, and any of them can switch sides at a moment’s notice. (Israel is shameless about manipulating American opinion as an ally and spying on us at the same time. Of course, who isn’t? They’re just better at it.)
