Pruitt is now going to buy himself a tank with taxpayer money to protect himself.

And a BIG thank you to Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Heidi Heitkamp for voting to confirm Pruitt’s nomination as the head the EPA. It’s nice to know that when there’s a Republican vote that’s close to failing, there almost always a Democrat there to make darn well sure it passes!

Pretence can lead to reality. As long as doing the right thing – the ideal – is out there in public vying for attention and respect, there is hope that someday a ‘woke’ society will act accordingly.

    @Jason Allen, @Radish, @False Equivalencies

Comparing the Democratic party’s platform and overall voting record to the Republican party’s platform and overall voting record isn’t nearly as much fun, is it?

Reinforcing the lie that all politicians and political parties are the same is what got us Trump in the first place.

Lots of Democrats suck (or faithfully represent the wishes of a constituency that sucks). Now, keep repeating that truth over and over and pretty soon voting Republican seems reasonable.

Americans are pretty much willing victims of Russia’s propaganda ploys. Strike a blow for democracy! – never vote! – they are all corrupt imperialists!

    Reposting from Guy Fawkes yesterday:

I Can’t remember if we cried

When we read about his blatant lies

    Something touched us deep inside

    The day Democracy died

    So

    Bye, bye Miss American Pie

Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry

And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye

Singin’ this’ll be the day that I die

This’ll be the day that I die

The country will live on but it will be a more stark place. More poor and working poor, no help from the govt at all. Only the rich, ruthless and well connected will prosper. Things like the Tennessee Valley Authority would be closed down or sold off to private concerns as would the majority of what the govt does for us. That part would be eliminated. It will be state & local autocracies with national autocracy at the very top.

I don’t remember the government even pretending to care for the environment. As far back as I can remember, the Republicans have been advocating for destroying our environment permanently for a quarter of profits.
