Kim speaks English as well as Korean. Trump only speaks Trumpinese. I doubt he will last in the meeting for 10 minutes when the Koreans start laughing at him in Korean.

Does Trump belittle Kim Jong-un because he disapproves of Li’l Kim or because he’s massively jealous of him? Kim gets to have his political opponents put to death and imprison reporters who displease him. All Trump get’s to do is pout on camera and whine like a petulant 5 year old about being mistreated and “fake news.”

…Actually, I shouldn’t say that. My niece is 5 and she’s a hell of a lot better behaved than Trump.

If we had a sane president, Kim would feel like he could get away with pretty much anything that didn’t do actual harm to the US or its allies. This meeting is only happening because even an unstable, unpredictable and unhinged person can recognize when he is dealing with someone just as crazy as he is—- who really does have a bigger button.

The similarity between Trump and Kim is that both are authoritarian personalities. The dissimilarity is in competence…

Love him or hate him, Trump has gotten farther than prior POTUS efforts.

So far, he has gotten some concessions without giving any. Just the temporary suspension of missile testing is miles beyond prior efforts at this stage in the game.

I seriously doubt anything viable will come of this effort, and if there is some actual agreement made, I seriously doubt that NK will honor it. They never have in the past.

However, if there is an agreement, and if NK breaks it, this POTUS will do what our previous leaders have balked at. He will impose whatever penalties are laid out in the agreement.

Kim was born and raised on politics and the keen reading of other people is literally a life-and-death proposition for the man!

I have no idea what Fred and his wife taught Donnie growing up, but, whatever it was, it didn’t “take”. Donnie is the living embodiment of the saying, “If he was half as smart as he thinks he is, he’d be twice as smart as he REALLY is!”

Donnie has already, single-handedly given Kim relevance beyond the scope believed possible prior to Donnie’s election, and, if the summit goes forward, Kim will, in all likelihood “have Donnie for lunch!”

Donnie has demonstrated all the negotiation skills of the average petulant kindergarten schoolyard bully! At one time, he might have been a tolerable negotiator, but he no longer retains the ability to hold a thought long enough to present any kind of sophisticated plan at all.

Donald John Trump increasingly appears to obsess on items revolving around him, personally, to the exclusion of anything pertaining to the nation’s interest, at all! Of course, this may all be “an act”, but if it is – Donnie will “sweep the Oscars”, guaranteed!

Trump said Kim Jong Un has been “open” and “very honorable” so far. Then dodged questions about what he meant by “very honorable” as he gears up for the anticipated face-to-face meeting. “Maybe it will be wonderful. And maybe it won’t. And if it’s not going to be fair and reasonable and good, unlike past administrations, I will leave the table.” – Trump on his upcoming meeting with Kim John Un.
