This is getting tiresome. You cannot blame the whole company for the actions of one person. I very confident that there has never been any directive from Starbucks to act is such a racist way. As has been stated by others; it is not a Starbucks’ problem, it’s an American problem.
If I recall the original news about this whole mess, the barista who started the whole thing was also black. It was more on the lines the cops escorting the two off in handcuffs and was actually on them. The barista’s problem was that they were jumping the gun on calling the cops. The two were waiting for a friend the were meeting with. They might have bought something then or they might not have. I think that may have been what Starbucks was really training their employees about. Don’t assume everyone who walks in the doors is not a customer or a potential customer.
I remember all too clearly the signs “White” and “Colored”…on drinking fountains, on restrooms, on laundromats (!). A friend of mine drove a laundromat manager in a small town in NC crazy by using the "white’ side to wash her whites and linens and the "colored’ side for her colored clothes. In truth, we still haven’t gotten far enough past that mind set.
Never a fan of big corporations and their practices, I still draw the line at false accusations and unwarranted demonization. Starbucks has made a concerted effort to address the embarrassment of hiring a racist and putting them in a managerial position, and making sure it never happens again. Starbucks deserves another chance.

So, we know for a fact that $tarbux has never had white loiterers removed by the police?
