Marcus has taken leave of more than his tail.

Zzzz, covfefe. Oh. hi there. Dozing off at the computer again, while composing a brilliant comment, Or otherwise.

Marcus, why? Why the bird suit on this bright spring day? Are you going to pull a wormy snack out in the grass? Or are you guest speaker at a meeting of Ballard Audubon? Where are you going, Marcus?

Rose, of course he got his costume from Stel. Now he will lose his deposit (she is so strict!).

Leaving home in a costume always starts out OK.

It doesn’t get tricky till the tail end of it.

BTW nobody on Ballard Street needs a reason to wear a costume.

If Marcus isn’t on his way to a meeting of the Songbird and Tea Society, or the Ballard Bird Watchers and Beer Imbibing Society, the Woodland Creatures Affinity Group, or the Birds of a Feather Glee Club ….

or one of the many other groups that utilise bird costumes…

he might just be entertaining a whim.

In fact, I believe he was one of many who have spoken to me recently, when I’ve been on shift at the Tiki…

and asked whether we’re going to bring back Whimsical Wednesdays….

Until about a year and a half ago, every Wednesday, the Tiki offered all-day Happy Hour….

and costumes, dancing, and whimsy were seen all over Ballard Street,

worn or practiced with carefree abandon.

I think it’s a great idea…. hope the Monkey agrees!

Marcus, takes being called a big chicken very seriously.

I believe he has taken leave of his sense.

One of the rules of both cosplay and LARPing is to know the limitations of your costume.

And thus hangs the tail….of poor Marcus trying not to feather his nest !
