To be honest, I loved the store and jingle as a kid, but later found the prices too high (as I suspect my parents did), the stores a bit shabby (even before Bain), and that they were frequently out of stock of items I wanted. Even so, I’m sad to see them go – but it’s human nature to pull a haze of nostalgia over one’s childhood, despite the reality.
