Five rounds is the legal maximum in all states for an actual HUNTING rifle.And by the way, those “assault” style rifles have vented forearm pieces to keep you from burning your hands, and cool the barrel when firing lots of rounds, preventing warping and jamming. No civilian use for such function, unless you’re hunting in Las Vegas?

Yesterday, a high school teacher, city council member, and PT deputy, in CA, had his handgun out to show to his Public Safety Class when he accidentally fired a round into the ceiling. Three students with minor injuries. Want more of this happening? Put more weapons in schools, or any place really. Only a matter of time before some innocent person or people are killed as a direct result. It is a mortal lock that this will occur. The only question is when, not if. Sad to say, sooner is probably better than later, as at least some will realize they have been played.

Now he knows what it means to be under fire. The truth hurts. Keep it up kids!

There ought to be a law – one of those protesters called his AR-15 and assault rifle! You don’t have the right to just go around saying what you want about guns – did you forget the second amendment?!

When the NRA-endorsed ban on assault weapons was in effect, the total number of people whose second amendment rights were violated by the ban was ZERO. We could re-institute the ban tomorrow, and, in a few centuries, the total number of people whose second amendments rights were violated by the ban, would also total…..well, you know. ZILCH!

Someone – and shame on me for not noting who it was – posted a comment somewhere on the GC editorial cartoons recently offering this chant: “Hey, hey, NRA! How many kids have you killed today?” Harkens back to the 60’s. I would love to see them protesting and chanting that outside NRA HQ, wherever that is.

We need gun legislation. A lot of people say that in the short term, it will be difficult to classify what guns are legal or not, and that gun legislation talk breeds a wave of gun sales. However, in the long term, good gun legislation will keep us all safe. Remember, it’s your government’s job to protect you, and if that means limiting the number of powerful weapons that can fall into the hands of the wrong people, that’s what the government should, nay, is OBLIGATED, to do.

And in Nebraska; teens who walked out of classes are being subjected to corporal punishment, a good slapping by the teachers. THAT’LL teach them the proper use of violence.
