Why not get the parts now? The store may be temporaily out of stock or a storm may come by next week.
To quote that great ‘possum philosopher, "There is nothing so urgent today that won’t be urgenter tomorrow."
And go back to the store because you can’t find where you put the parts better known as a safe place that you can never remember.
All great DIY projects require at least 3 trips to the hardware store.
Study the problem and do your due diligence in prep work and it should be an easy fix.
