Hmm, a state with a budget surplus, an economy that ranks 6th in the world, and a whole lot of people. What do we need the rest of the country for, again?
Yes, and I guess they will be taking their budget surplus with them: “Jerry Brown’s Legacy: A $6.1 Billion Budget Surplus in California” (from those crazy liberals at The Wall Street Journal: https://www.wsj.com/articles/jerry-browns-legacy-a-6-1-billion-budget-surplus-in-california-1515624022)
I think our problem here is we are not “identifying” “Mainstream” correctly. The Republican view is NOT mainstream, to my mind! It does NOT reflect what the majority of Americans believe at any given moment! Of course, neither does the Democratic point of view, occasionally. And, of course, the use of polling does not necessarily reflect correct national feeling at any given moment, either, depending on the phrasing of the question posed.
Bottom line, the concept of “Mainstream” without proper context is a useless and totally misleading idea!
If local police have to act like ICE agents then illegals cannot report cries if they are a victim and they cannot testify against a criminal. If they come forward, they will be deported before the trial.

Interesting that the G.O.P. is usually FOR “State’s Rights”…

So, the mainstream is to the lower left side of the line. Good for California!

So you’re saying California is sane and the rest are running away?

Don’t tell me that Jeff Sessions represents mainstream politics. He is further out of the mainstream than Kamala Harris.

Free California does not need the oppressive right wing politics of DC.
The whole west coast should secede and leave the brainless east coast fascists high and dry.
California, Oregon and Washington state did not vote for Trump, we do not recognize his destructive and evil polices.

Oh, please. A “California is weird” joke? That’s the best you can do?

Mainstream fake politics like MSM fake news.

Someday the rest of the country can get back to mainstream politics when we get rid of these right-wing loonies.
