Hey! That’s what black electrical tape is for. Cover up the light and go on your merry way. If you can’t see it, it’s not there.

I quit worrying about mine after it burned out. No light, no problem.

There should be two “Check engine lights”. One that says, “There really is something wrong with your engine”.

I should know. I’ve been driving around with the check engine light on for awhile in my car.

The one check engine light everyone will listen to is the fire under the hood.

True story. A friend was changing the oil in his car. He went over to his neighbor to get a couple tolls and got caught up in conversation and Buds.

In the meantime, his wife came out of the house, assumed he had finished since he was nowhere around, slammed down the hood of the car and drove off to the store. Her check engine light was also ignored…for the few blocks it took for the engine to seize up.

Lesson: communicate and BELIEVE the light.

Yes–when the Check Engine light comes on, stop, go around the front, and check to be sure the engine is still there. If it is, get back in the car and proceed….

The light indicates that your mechanic’s bank account is low.
