    You ARE aware it’s all the additions from Republicans and Trump ramping up the deficit, right? MORE GUNS that don’t work, instead of education or food, or medicine for kids.

    In emulating Somalia, in eliminating rules, regulations, taxes for the wealthy, responsibilities, etc, we have a tremendous advantage over them … the size of our navy. It seems that some of our politicians may be thinking …. if we were to turn our navy into a pirate fleet, we wouldn’t have to worry about debt?

    Why should anyone bother reading Gorrell anymore? He doesn’t bother to read it himself.

    The Republicans need to borrow money to pay for tax cuts for rich people.

    They need to take a basic economics class.

    Wattsa big deal?

    When Republicans are in power, spending and especially deficits DO NOT matter.

    ===

    Those are campaign talking points. Nothing more.

    .

    Only if Democrats are in power are spending and deficits an actual issue — in that case, it’s a gut-wrenching, life and death issue.

    .

    Need proof? Look at Gorrell’s old cartoons, or those of any Trump Disciple cartoons.

    The GOP can’t claim to be the party of fiscal responsibility.

    The Democrats voted against this, the Democrats take care of spending. The last time the budget was balanced and the federal deficit was erased was under Bill Clinton. Barack Obama spent his time trying to pay off a war a Republican started but didn’t pay for and tanked the economy. The Republicans once again are applying a patch to an already find economy and will tank us again. Leaving clean up to the Democrats who actually want to fix this (instead of borrowing to pay the rich)

    The tax cut is the bigger part of the problem – that belongs to the Repubs. Then they added more for the military when the US already spends 34% (2014 number) of the world’s total.

    And Trump wants to add $25 billion for a wall despite the majority of illegal immigrants coming to US via plane.

    The Dems are pushing for badly needed (and overdue) money for infrastructure – the Repubs want to privatize it so we can pay tolls on top of paying for the infrastructure.

    Funny that the Repubs in Congress are fine with deficits when the biggest part is their tax cuts and they kicked the debt ceiling can down the road until after the 2018 elections. They shut down the government before rather than raise the debt ceiling (bills already committed to) when a Dem was the president.

    Another ‘false equivalency’ from Gorrell … Wonder how he will “cover” for the GOP’s attempts to destroy Social Security and Medicare!
