Maybe I’m mixing historical metaphors for Heavy Stuff, but didn’t Mme. Defarge knit while Rome burned? (Not that LA is anything like Imperial Rome, which was noted for sybaritic decadence and… uhh, never mind.)
Nobody was every going to make a scarf out of this beautiful yarn I saw in the shop so I had to do it myself.
