I reallly, really, really, hopes this happens!…..i must confess i did not expect alabama to be a win, thank God than just barely enough good people got out and voted…..now if only we were capable of doing the same thing here in texas.
I suspect that it’s already dawned on many of the Republicans in both the House and Senate that they’re going to get slaughtered next November. That makes them even MORE dangerous until the next Congress is sworn in. At this point, the GOPigs are on a suicide run, and they just don’t care anymore. So they’ll do whatever suits them and their patrons right now, e.g. their tax swindle & scam, and the Devil can take the hindmost. We live in interesting times…
At this point, I do believe the Powers-that-Be in Congress have decided to sink or swim with Don Juan. They have cast their lot. But that does not necessarily mean ALL of their soldiers will fall in line.
Denial has been working for Trump and the rest of the Republican party for a long time. All they need is a good strong 1/3 of the country to deny with them, and the rest of us to stay home when it is time to vote.
Off topic here, but does anyone know of a good reason why GoComics has decided to give us not 1 but 2 “Reply” links below top-level comments? The 2nd one is beyond redundant; it takes up space and gives a visual implication that there are already replies to that comment.
The Democrats really need to appeal to voters, i.e. women, men, brown, black, Asian, LGBT, and everyone else in between those categories. all the people, for all the people, by all the people. We are really tired of not being represented by people who only represent the elite 1%.
Let’s not count chickens before they hatch. It will take a lot of hard work to defeat the Republican machine. And the Democrats have to figure out what it means to be a Democrat, or how the various tendencies within the party can get along with each other.
Must admit that in a lot of states, the Democrats ARE going to have to put some better wax on their boards to ride the wave, but the Republicans need to have a serious wipe out on roughly half their riders. (AND stop putting their riders into budget bills and defense appropriations!)
I hope that Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and other moderate Republicans recognize this before they do any other stupid things like approve the POS tax bill. SC, LM, and the retiring Flake approved Grasz for a judge position despite his unanimous “NOT qualified” from the American Bar Association. Grassley finally seems ready to reclaim some sanity because he wants Trump to withdraw nominations for the horror novelist and the creationist.
If trickle down economics is ever implemented toward actually increasing pay, adding more jobs, and improving companies, there would be no issues. However, the corporate stock options always win out, and greed surpasses substance.

The only thing better than Trumbo’s failure, would be his humiliation. If he knows what that is.

REPRISE – {limerick and coda}
Delightful, this sight that one sees: -
- some Change in political seas.
But one is not certain
that closed is the curtain.
One frets ‘bout a Rightwing reprise.
… Coda:
Wham, Bam. Thank you, Ma’am
that for Now there’s less Moore in Alabam.

Maybe Dumb Donnie IS the best thing to happen to the Democratic Party after all!

Without a large turnout of the general populace this win would not have happened. No surprise but still a wake up call to the left.

Alternatively, I suspect that the GOP will be voting for the tax scam bill…
..because they want to land the inevitable lobbying jobs, after they get voted out.

I’m willing to bet that the demographics of the 2018 Mid-terms will show a marked upswing in Female Voters…and Democratic voters, if they are smart.

{Off the cartoon’s topic:}
“WELL-REGULATED”{???} MILITIA – {rhyme and coda}
“Well Regulated”??? …
… well, Not an Alt-Right militia
who’ll shoot whomever they wish, – a
Bill-of-Rights “right”, mis-stated
by fevered brains frustrated
that the Rights are for those whom they’ve hated.
… Coda:
Let’s have them re-located
to jails, and THERE “regulated”,
from society segregated.

If the Republicans won’t impeach Trump, perhaps the women will.

And it all started with the ideas of trickle down economics and the notion that government was not the solution but the problem.
Is anyone ever going to speak against that man?
