It’s really not a Christmas song, its called Linus and Lucy by Vince Guaraldi, and it’s in all the Peanuts shows and movies. George Winston does it well also.
The original comic strips are great, but the music chosen for the cartoons, even if Schulz chose it, is not at all suitable. That, and reducing Snoopy’s articulate musings to gibberish, makes watching the cartoons almost as painful as pleasurable. In order to appreciate the music at all, I have to dissociate it completely from the comic strip and from the TV version as it should have been.
I sing on the elevators at the school where I am an aide when I am transporting students. During the holiday season we often have sing-alongs. Everyone leaves the elevator with a smile even if they didn’t have one when they got on.

I, OTOH, dislike the fact that stores start with the Christmas music right after Halloween because by Dec 15 I totally hate hearing them
