Bun “way too tight”… LMAO… BTW, I’ve seen those ‘special’ jackets that bun lady has on in the last panel, and they’re made out of thick fire hose material (with some soft felt around the neck line for comfort’s sake), and her pectoral anatomical geography wouldn’t show; they’d be smooshed flat.
I was reading the other day (in the Off the Mark anniversary bit) about how comic strip artists of the time would use “zip-a-tone” to rapidly apply patterned textures to their work. It is staggering to realize that everything here is apparently done by hand.
