Late bloomer? More like going to seed.

She probably didn’t want to nail it to the wooden icebox.

Some late blooming artists should have been nipped in the bud.

You’re never too old to receive praise from your mother and father.

Speaking of late bloomers: Anna Mary Robertson Moses (September 7, 1860 – December 13, 1961), known by her nickname Grandma Moses, was an American folk artist. She began painting in earnest at the age of 78.
