It is quite obvious that this is an impromptu excuse as Nate doesn’t know if his friend is male or female and he doesn’t know the name of his friend.

These are all of Nate’s friends: Francis, Teddy, Chad, Dee Dee, and Breckenridge Puffinton III.

Let’s be honest, this panel is just trying to waste time until Wednesday or Thursday, obviously, Nate should be dead meat by now. Also, why does Nate continue with excuses when absolutely NOBODY in the school really draws like him?

Nate should spend more time working on his excuses. By now, he should know his current ones never work.

Why is everybody jumping for joy over EllenSays’ banning? Sure, he/she was spamming, but do you really think it’s a good idea to start cheering and celebrating over the kick-out of a commenter?

Deny, deny, deny. Deny you drew the comic, deny you know who did. Nate, you don’t know who the book belongs to, nor do you know who would do such a vile despicable act. Just take a page from the playbook of a certain senator from Alabama. If you repeat a lie often enough, you will start to believe it. (Actually Nate, you’re better off telling the truth, be honest with the esteemed teacher. Maybe even apologize, and take your lumps.)

The 4th amendment of the constitution says that you can’t search peoples private property without a warrant so Mrs. Godfrey has no right to look in Nate’s cartooning notebook

The Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution provides that “[t]he right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

A great plot twist would be: Mrs. Godfrey actually likes Nate’s cartoons…and she encourages him to keep drawing(at appropriate times)

Hey Nate, blame it on Gina! Either Mrs. Godfrey would believe you and give Gina a big yelling and detention, or you would end up getting a bigger punishment for lying.
