Other nations have equivalent percentages of gun ownership without the gun homicides. To accomplish this, would require congress cooperating to form compromise legislation -- as the founders had hoped congress would do --rather that treating their fellow Americans as evil, ignorant, or stupid and not listening to them at all as enemies as enemies of the US hope we will.

Our ultra liberal gun laws and the silence of our Republican politicians will keep both of them employed.

At the rate we are going Anarchy is sure to follow closely if any of these gun fanatics decide that they can live without the Constitution or government of any type that would restrict their gun ownership. Do you think that’s what Trump and Russia have in mind for us?

What, no vitriol for the dozen plus things with higher body counts? Hypocrite.

Over 13,000people a year killed by drunk drivers. Boozing and cruising out kills guns by 3 to 1

147,101 people a year are killed by lung disease. Smoking out kills guns 33 to 1

614,348 people a year are killed by heart disease. Junk food out kills guns 140 to 1

Guns are a God-given right. That is why Adam and Eve were packing and we are all born with a pistol in hand. Why regulate something deadly when Republicans are still making money off of it?

Moxie, your numbers are skewed. First of all, while smoking is linked to higher rates of lung cancer, there are other factors as well. Heart disease numbers include ANYONE dying from heart disease, which is the number one killer. Doesn’t mean they all ate junk food. Preventive care, like what was put in ACA, helps bring these numbers down. The government was too slow to act on smoking because Congress got money from tobacco companies like they get from the NRA.

.750 deaths prevented by a waiting period before getting a gun. Would be higher if done nationally. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/16/us/waiting-periods-guns.html

.Mass shootings on the rise. https://www.thoughtco.com/gun-death-stats-in-perspective-3303385

.All gun deaths in US have been rising, especially since the gun NUTS think “they’re coming to take my guns” when anyone proposes ANY restriction. http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/compareyears/194/total_number_of_gun_deaths
