Never, NEVER prepare a quantity of cayenne peppers without nitrile or plastic gloves. Even with sweet peppers, after doing a few bushels without gloves, I soon afterward spent a half-hour squatting in the bathtub with cold water after doing a normal activity.

My son, when he was like, 2 yrs old, got into some cayenne peppers. Seems now he can tolerate just about any peppers.
