It’s not your father’s political party any more. Do we really want to continue trusting the political parties to “ethically vet” their own candidates instead of being directly involved -- looking over their shoulders — at the selection of competent people that affect us and our nation so intensely?

Doesn’t Virginia have a ‘no retreat’ law? Why are the locals being tarred with the same brush as their aggressors for exercising their legal rights?
I don’t think Virginia’s Stand Your Ground laws allow you to stand your ground against good White Christian Neo-nazis. Only those “other people,” if you know what I’m saying.
Only, that’s not what happened, is it? Reports from the clergy there – from many denominations and faiths – universally said the Nazis came after folk with their weapons, most of whom were unarmed and preparing to take a beating, when others stepped in between them and stopped the attacks. Those others appear to be the much maligned “Antifa”, but according to the clergy, the Nazis were the sole aggressors.
Why should we stop anti-fascists from keeping the alt-right from beating people with bats, burning people, running them over? The media has done a good job showing the violence that happened in Charlottesville, it is the resident who missed what happened there. It is obvious Bok sides with the Neo-Nazis and KKK on this one.
