One of our guys from Georgia took me to a Klan rally after we got back from ‘Nam. Strange folk indeed, and their “Chrisitan belief” is shown the same way ISIL plays with Islam, break every rule and say you’re the most devout!
Today, trump denounced taking down what he called beautiful confederate statues. On Friday 3 congressmen will put forth a censure of trump for his recent endorsement of racism, which is the least they can do. It is time to call your congressman again to make sure this is passed unanimously.
It is so important to live in the PRESENT. We can’t change the past. One part of the GOP is endorsing the KKK and the Nazis right now, in 2017! The rest of the country must let them know this is unacceptable and will not stand. Even if obnoxious racist speech is allowed, the rest of us must not be silent.
Now that we know who started it and a pox on them! Let’s just finish them off!! By the way I read an article this morning about Ronald Reagan’s speech to the NAACP. It was really good denouncing racism and segregation. And he wasn’t namby-pamby about it either. None of this two sides to the violence thing. I mean how stupid is that? Oh I know what I forgot. Trump was invited to speak to the NAACP but he turned them down. Just saying.
CDHPC2, the Republicans took over the KKK after the Civil Rights Act was passed. Strom Thurmond WAS a Dem when he filibustered the Civil Rights Act, then immediately switched to the Repblican party, taking droves of former Dems along with. Nixon pushed the southern strategy based on racism but encouraged code words to avoid overt racism. The funny thing is, people need to know history, but it isn’t a buffet where you can pick-and-choose what you want. It is ALL relevant, and the more recent the history is, the more relevant it is.
GOP Diversity: Klansmen, neo-Nazis and White nationalists. The President speaks for the entire Republicans party when he allows white supremacists to attack innocent people.
I don’t believe all republicans are nazis and kkk members, but they need to take a much stronger stand in denouncing trump for taking part in not denouncing them by attempting to say they are equivalent to those who oppose the kkk and nazis. Impeachment would be preferable to censure. Censure is just a small step, but should take place at the very least in regard to trump.

I had heard the KKK was started by right wingers of both parties. But again, today it is endorsed by only one part of the GOP.

You know when someone is losing an argument when they start stating irrelevant comments.
