The multi-billions in subsidies, cheap leases, or unpaid oil royalties by “energy” companies, adds far more to the national debt than disclosed. Also alternative energy does have potential to add jobs to replace, and exceed those lost in “traditional” jobs, like coal. (Price undercut by natural gas, AND now solar.)

The solution to both of these graphs is to vote Democratic.

Except the debt always goes up during Repub administrations, and down whenever Dems are in control. That has been the case at least since and including Reagan. Tax cuts for the rich and endless wars ain’t cheap.

Republicans always go silent on the debt when they’re in charge.

The Republican mindset; “Hey we have a Credit Card! We’ll just let SOMEONE ELSE worry about paying the bills!” That’s the thinking behind the shrub’s several TRILLION DOLLAR wars!

No one is worried about the debt. If we were, we’d pay it off ourselves rather than passing it on to our children.

At the risk of trying to bring sense to a political discussion, let me urge you to watch this talk by Jonathan Haidt:

The stupid shutdowns caused economic uncertainty which lowered US bond rating making borrowing more expensive, not to mention the $24 BILLION cost of the last one. This uncertainty combined with budget cuts and furloughs is a large part of why the air traffic control system is outdated; when you are struggling to keep up with demand, there is no budget or time to upgrade.

.Trump’s first year travel costs are expected to surpass Obama’s 8 year total.
