The Senate nixed an Obama-era rule that could block some people receiving Social Security disability benefits from being able to buy a gun. … the House lambasted it’s GOP colleagues ahead of the vote, arguing they were making it easier for individuals with a mental illness to buy a gun.

I have no idea what this cartoon is about but, as a good Republican, I agree with it completely.

The GOP had six years from when Giffords got shot to do something about gun violence, and the didn’t Palin was not in a position to do anything about this shooter. It seems as though Payne was triggered. Are the snowflakes on the right going to be able to handle the fact that their lack of governing allowed this to happen? Or are they going to make up strange connections to Palin and Giffords? This doesn’t pass the smell test, but the Republicans haven’t noticed the stench in a long time.

I really believe: If not for Sarah Palin, former president John McCain would even now be planning his own presidential library. Back in 2008, WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

Seems Payne has a selective memory. He can’t recall when Obama, both Bushes, Clinton and Reagan were all portrayed as Caesar – it is a tradition. Not to mention that the play is ANTI-assassination. He also doesn’t recall the gun sights, “don’t retreat, reload” and encouragement to buy more guns pushed by Repubs in general and Palin in particular. Comparing this to individuals going over the top (Kathy Griffin and VA shooter) that are condemned by Dems and progressives is dishonest. There have been commercials running in GA where they are claiming that every Dem was cheering for the VA shooting that are just as false as Trump’s “dancing Muslims in NJ” claim.

To think that “Caribou Barbie” was saner, and smarter, than Trump!

So, Henry, does this mean that ‘second amendment solutions’ are now a BAD thing?

OK, so on one side of the TDSN I see a balanced discussion presenting differing opinions on the origin/existence of climate change; and on the other side I see a lively debate regarding the influence of a political figure on current events. Looks good to me!

JACK, you should be ashamed. Most of your claims are irrelevant (the shooter’s PARENTS?) or not true (Navy yard shooter not registered where he lived). These are people with mental health issues and the Repubs are actively working to limit ANY healthcare coverage, including mental health. Newt Gingrich has been making the rounds blaming EVERYONE who is a Dem. progressive or any other non-Rebub-fanatic, as supporting Kathy Griffin and the VA shooter. Sarah Palin was a VP candidate using gun sights and saying “reload, don’t retreat”. Trump pushed a “second amendment solution” and encouraged people at rallies to beat up protestors and he would pay for their legal bills. These are mainstream Repubs that truly do represent their party.

.As far as ID is concerned, in-person voter fraud is minuscule. Absentee voting, used by many Repub voters, is MUCH more prone to fraud but the Rs wouldn’t want to touch that.
