Once upon a time the US cared about human rights violations and would not deal with countries that sustained those practices. Now with the world’s largest prison population, economic inequality, and defacto segregation in our cities, it is hard to point fingers at other nations for having those faults. Hard to complain about the barking dog when so many of our faults are visible to the world.
In response we sent our dog over to the other neighbor’s house to prove we still have a bigger dog. But we did say when we moved in, we didn’t care about dogs barking, we were just going to be working on fixing up the house. I guess that is another campaign promise broken. Who knew home ownership was so complicated?
