How much has China helped with North Korea so far?

    .

Oh well, at least they approved trump’s 37 trademarks.

    .

Yet another win for American foreign policy.

Trump presides over North Korea’s accelerated missile program, and doesn’t do anything about it. Tweets lies about Obama and calls his buddy Putin to get advice on how to cut programs to the poor and give tax cuts to the rich. What joke Trump has made America. He helped to make North Korea Great again, he’s helping make Russia great again, he’s making Iran great again. why won’t he help make America great?

Oh, m’Gawd; danger, danger, Korea has missiles and they’re aiming them at us and we’re all gonna die unless we invest another two trillion dollars on defense spending contracts. Be afraid; be very afraid!

Clinton’s fault? Oh, not so fast there!

In the wake of the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion in 1986, President Ronald Reagan decided in 1988 that U.S. space companies should be allowed to launch their satellites aboard China’s Long March rockets to accommodate the fast-growing American telecommunications business.

But the U.S. firms were strictly barred from giving the Chinese any help on their launches without U.S. licenses and supervision by Pentagon inspectors. The U.S. government’s fear was that the Chinese could use American know-how on the Long March commercial rocket launches to help the performance of Beijing’s nuclear-tipped missiles.

The problem was that China’s space officials were extremely aggressive in demanding that the American companies provide “technology transfer” as a condition for entry into the desirable Chinese market. The issue came to a head each time a Long March rocket crashed or failed in some other way, because that led global insurance companies to demand in-depth probes into the technical causes of the glitches. American firms came under pressure to share insights with the Chinese.

The President’s action will affect the June 7 launching of a Motorola Iridium satellite, which is to fly into low orbit to provide paging and cellular telephone service. Mr. Clinton said that he had approved the export of satellite fuel and explosive bolts, which eject the satellite from its launch vehicle.

Explosive bolts? Wow! That’s really hi-tech! Satellite fuel? Not sure what they are using. I always thought it was hydrazine, but maybe there are improvements.

    That’s why they’re called Missiles.

If they were supposed to hit something they’d be called Hitiles.

OK, now to get off of the blame the president game, let’s figure out who the real culprits were. Well, that’s easy. Congress. You know, the folks who actually fund space programs and launch vehicles. And NASA.

It was Congress that cut back the funding of launch vehicles. NASA, in order to keep humans in the space business, wanted the Space Shuttle. So too many launch eggs got placed in the Shuttle basket. With the huge cost of that, getting another big launch vehicle was not going to happen. So large payloads had to fly on the Titan IIIs. Which were pretty heavily subscribed for spy satellite launches.

We’re still paying for short-sightedness in launch vehicles because we have to use Russian launch vehicles and capsules to get people to the space station. At least Musk, Bezos and others are working on fixing that.

And it doesn’t really sound like China has been falling all over itself to help the NKs with their launches. If they had been, there would probably be fewer NK failures.

So too much blame game, not enough thinking from the peanut gallery.

And the interesting thing is that he reminds so many of us of Trumpster Fire.
