I don’t know if you’re aware, but there were plenty of Nazis who had Jewish family (via marriage, etc.) who sold those relatives down the river and into the extermination camps. Same sort of thing happened between Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda.
Trump has the loudest megaphone in the world and he’s basically doing nothing to address the anti-Semitism that has shot up since his campaign and then since November. He himself has spouted anti-Semitic rhetoric. And his chief puppeteer, President Bannon, is a bald-faced anti-Semitic white supremacist. It’s not just about the persecution of Jews with these guys. It’s people of color, religious minorities, transgender and gay people and a whole host of others. (Don’t forget that Hitler’s Nazis also targeted gays, Gypsies, etc.) Those facts speak for themselves.
To interventor: When German papers and magazines regularly depict the current occupant of the White House as Hitler on their covers, you know you’ve got a live one on your hands. As for the rest of your logic-free word salad, well, thanks for the roughage!
To vorpal: Among right-wingers, “fake news” is “any news I don’t like.” Sorry, but Trump has indeed been widely documented using antisemitic statements. And he’s also not come out forcefully at all against the antisemitic terrorism that white supremacists have been wielding against synagogues and other Jewish places of late. The few namby-pamby statements he has made have had to be forced out of him.
