It’s taxpayer federal land, the state’s were never in possession of it, and Nevada had refused to accept what they were offered when they became a state. Latter day whiners trying to rip off the natives, and the taxpayers, again if they had their way.

Maybe if we gave 20% of Utah, including Zion, to the Jewish population of Israel, they’d have desert, and still have polygamous relligious folks wanting theocracy as neighbors! They could also give up their nukes! (And they’d have MORE land than in Israel, and peace might be possible.

That’s what America should do to the colonial settler project in Occupied Palestine…shift all the so-called “Israelis” to America since it loves them so much. Give them their own country somewhere there. Solves everyone’s problem in one stroke, right?

Funny how nobody ever has anything good to say about Henry’s efforts. It’s a wonder he’s still published.

I worry about wasted and redundant efforts especially when I have to pay for it in the form of increased local taxes. Walmart, Target, and other big box stores have purchasing power that local mom and pop stores do not have and have effectively applied the economies of scale. We could do that to and lower our taxes …. or, we can just pretend our ideologies are more important and economies of scale don’t apply to governments.

“When people complain about how much government has grown, their harshest criticism usually is reserved for the federal government. In reality, the number of federal government employees hasn’t grown quickly at all, compared with state and local.Based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of federal government employees has grown at an average annual rate of only 0.4 percent since 1955, from 2.3 million employees to 2.8 million.Local government, on the other hand, has grown at a rate of 2.4 percent per year, from 3.5 million employees in 1955 to 14.1 million in August 2012. State government growth averaged 2.6 percent per year, from 1.1 million to 5 million.”

Amazing how many of you liberals completely missed the point of this cartoon. Then again when liberals try to defend terrorists, it just makes them look even crazier & even more out of touch with reality then normal. ^^The point: How would the vast majority of Americans feel if some foreign country half way around the world suggested that we cede a vast piece of our country to a terrorist organization (that pretends to be a country) that calls for the complete destruction of our country & the complete genocide of a religion? Oh they will also keep sending suicide bombers into America, while shooting missiles over the border at civilians.

If cattle grazed public lands at fair market value, cattlemen (mostly corporations) would be paying taxpayers 10-25 times what they’re currently paying! Oil and gas leasing brings billions in, and would bring in more if not for subsidies to oil companies. Getting rid of taxpayers public lands for pennies on the dollar, not to mention value forever with leasing and royalties, is just plain stupid. (And in violation long intent on the part of Conress.)
