Alice: Petey! Look what I got! Mom said it's too early to get all the Christmas decorations out, but I got to have just one! See? It's a Santa bear! Don't you wish you had a Christmas decoration? Petey: I already got one, on the ceiling. Alice: Hey! How'd you get tinsel? Petey: I found it under the sofa last year. I taped it onto the ceiling yesterday. I call it "the tinsel of Damocles" it's a scathing commentary on tacky holiday ornaments. Alice: I want tinsel on my ceiling! Petey: And it's the most festive thing in my room.

It’s not too early! My mom started a family tradition of decorating for Christmas the night of Thanksgiving. Then we would take the decorations down on the evening of January 1st.

My b’day is the 29, anniversery is the 11 of jan. I ask that it be down for my b’day, but I am lucky if it is down by Valentine’s Day. There is so many b’days and other celebrations between Halloween and Christmas, that I am done with it by Thanksgiving.
