my high school made the opposite decision…. no football program but the school could make long distance calls. I couldn’t get away with skipping school without my parents getting a call.
I knew a couple- husband was football coach, wife English teacher. School in Texas hired them both and just made the English classes small enough to give her some students. And, he found out when he’s been there a few months that his salary was 1/4 higher than the superintendent’s.
