Rather hypocritical of Caulfield, of all people, to criticise such behavior.

Plus, what does it say of a person whose raison d’être seems to be putting other people down?

I liked Caulfield until I had his doppelgänger in a class in which I was substitute teaching. I was getting set to nail the kid when I realized there’s no rule against being annoying.

“People who argue just to argue” pretty much describes my mother and her siblings. No malice or mean-spiritedness, just mental exercise and keeping one another on their toes. Must have worked — they all lived into their late 80s and 90s and were mentally sharp until their last breath. I see sparks of that in Puma, Gaunt and Doh, and I have to chuckle. Thanks, Guys!

Tomielm I would put Susan in that list. Chaining puns is a great mental exercise, either solo or as a competition.

Observations other than my own will be met with suspicion and then rejected.If they were valid or worthwhile, I would have thought of them already.I have already thought every thought worth thinking, before breakfast.
