    Cute comic, but really bad physics. There’s no way a ball can travel backwards with a forward swing of the bat. Foul balls going backwards are the result of a pitch first. Momentum, remember?

    Wouldn’t it be possible to hit a foul ball if one hit too much below the equator of the ball? Just wondering…

    as for the foul ball on a toss up question, it is absolutely possible to do that if you hit below the equator of the ball. it also helps to have contact be slightly “late” in baseball terms. cartoon physics not needed when real physics will serve.
