Trump is not the GOP. Trump loves the spotlight and has enough money he can afford his political hobby. Most of the pseudo policies he’s spouted are unconstitutional. There’s no way he can deliver and the rest of the candidates don’t agree with his drivel. Trump is a flashy, self centered distraction from reality. But he is rich…
@dzw3030Actually, there’s a strong case to be made that he does represent the GOP. Or at least a very large portion of it. He’s been polling much stronger than any other candidate for a full month now, and stands at over 20% in just about every independent poll, whomping the second-place candidate (Bush in some, Carson in others) by over ten points. Add to this that his radically right-wing round-em-up police-state deportation plan has basically been signed onto by no less than seven other Republican candidates. Plus the fact that on many other issues he’s just giving the Republican line in a brasher, flashier way than others have been. If you really care about the GOP, Trump and his quite large number of supporters should make you very, very worried for the future of the party.
@agrestic: Quotes from major GOP candidates call Trump’s proposals as “gibberish” and offer other cheerful support. Last night, O’Reilly braced Trump on the 14th amendment. Trump backed down and said it would have to be tested in court. Trump ignores the Supreme Court has already ruled in favor of the 14th. I’m a registered Democrat but don’t swill the party line. Since I passed 65, I haven’t received any Dem propaganda in the mail or on the phone. As far as I can tell, the Dem’s don’t care about the older voters or they take us all for granted.

What happened to the GOP supporting the constitution and familie values? I guess racism trumps all that.
