Before the primary the Virginia Republican Party put out a series of TV ads showing Virginia House Democrats Rick Boucher and Tom Perriello leaping to their feet and wildly appluading Mexican President Calderon when he was giving his speech to Congress. The ads pointed out that they were appluading someone who was critizing America, and, since he was calling for a ban on assult weapons, this also showed that Boucher and Perriello were in favor of gun control!
The ads also gave out Boucher and Perriellos phone numbers, and stated “Voters in the 5th and 9th districts need to know that their Representatives were among the hundreds of Democrats who lept to their feet to applaud gun control while a leader from a foreign nation scolded the American people for upholding the rights secured to us by our Constitution!”
When news media pointed out to the Virginia Republican Party people that the video couldn’t be showing them appluading Calderon and his comments as neither Boucher or Perriello had attended the speech, their reply was that, since neither Boucher or Perriello had condemed the speech it was proof that they were in favor of gun control, and they would continue to run the ads.
I ask what Democratic primary the cartoonist was talking about, and everybody spouts about the Republicans. OK, everybody knows that Republican primaries are filthy.
Now, what Democratic primary was the cartoonist referring to?
Norton99, Anandy is correct -the cartoon is in reference to the primary
in Arkansas, specifically the race between incumbent Senator Blanche Lincoln and Lt. Governor
Bill Halter.
No, he and 49 other men were all sacrificed by their wifes. They’re faces were mutilated and they were found floating face down, so they would bleed to death, in a high school pool.
