My grandparents got married in the 1920’s and they still had a wagon. My grandmother only got one drivers license in her life and that was in the mid 1970’s. She never owned a car.

Maybe Jon’s parents aren’t as backwards as some think. Pretty advanced if you ask me.

Or Jon’s parents could be the Hillbillies/ farmers.

Careful Joe. The idea of ignorant country hicks is a terrible stereotype.

    @ serenasakitty,

Mr Doty has angered other posters before by making a similar statement about Jon’s parents.

I mentioned how rude one of his posts had been on one occasion and he responded by saying that if I found his posts rude, that it was my problem. Given that response, I doubt that he cares if he offends others or would be willing to make any effort to get along.

Please remember, people - if you criticize the Dotyman, you are Hateful People, but when HE criticizes someone, it’s because it’s deserved by that person. OK? Got it? He CAN, you CAN’T - simple…

Joe is correct. Jon’s family is deliberately yokel.

The idea of ignorant country hicks is a terrible stereotype, but Jon’s family is drawn to match that stereotype. They give the “Beverly Hillbillies” a run for their money in the competition for backwards yokels.
